Jordan is from Perth Western Australia and has worked extremely hard to campaign for the title alongside his LGBT community activities. As part of the competition, Jordan along with his six other finalists competed in a photo shoot challenge, a written test, a personal interview, a public vote online, wrote an opinion piece that was published online and a public speaking challenge at Midsumma Carnival. Speaking off stage, Jordan reflected on the moment and how excited he was to have a platform for the issues he has been talking about for so long. Jordan now goes on to represent Australia at Mr Gay World in Knysna South Africa in May and will be involved in many other projects across the country as the year moves forward. On stage at Midsumma Carnival Jordan was overwhelmed with the victory. Mr Gay World is an annual international competition for gay men. For the first time in the history of Mr. Therefore the selected delegates are still eligible to compete for the title of Mister Gay World Gay World , took place in Spain from 5 May to 10 May On May 5 — 7, representatives of the five continents visited Madrid and continued onward to Gran Canaria in Maspalomas from the 8 — 10 May, where the Grand Finale Gala was held.
Over the next few weeks, finalists will compete in two online challenges where they will write an opinion piece to be published and then be subjected to a public vote. When the finalists come together in Hay the challenges will include an LGBTI knowledge test, photoshoot, a personal interview and a public speaking challenge on stage at Rainbow on the Plains. I want to be Mr Gay Australia because I want this to mean something to someone else out there and to inspire others who are dealing with their identity to live as their authentic and proud selves. I never had a role model or anyone that I could relate to or look up to.
